I am trying to burn some stuff on dvds on dvd+R , and the same thing happens. I click burn and then it says lead in under the action, and it does that for like 15 seconds. Then it says fails. Heres my log.

First go back in and edit out all those Nero S/Ns they start with 1a23, etc.

You need to enable DMA on your burner. Here is a guide:

    http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/dvdguide005.html

Here is the Nero Current Version Number: 6.6.0.14
    you have "Nero version: 6.3.1.10"

When you use Shrink, Shrink does not actually do the burn. It calls another program. In your case it is calling Nero.

I can't seem to find the media info on your logs but usually with bad media the burn will start and then fail at some point during the burn. What are you using?

You may want to check for firmware updates for your burner.

I would get the Nero update. You may want to run the Nero Clean tool before installation of the new version:

    http://nero.com/us/Clean_Tools.html

It could be your burner. Burners are getting pretty inexpensive so you may want to get a new one. Your DMA disabled can be an indication of some data transfer problems between your PC and burner.

*peeks in over fast frank's shoulder,

Hi snipedawg a few things I would like to point out to you:

try adding more memory or turn some of your background processes off (i.e. internet, antivirus, firewall)

you are burning too close to the edge. As frank stated you might want to run your project through dvd shrink first then use nero.

burner doesn't like your choice of media. try some verbatims (local retailer), sony or fuji (made in japan)

As follow what frank says. report back and let us know about your progress

    Hi Matt,
    Good call on the memory.
When I started burning DVDs, I had 512 Mb to work with. I eventually replaced one of the 256 Mb chips with a 512 for a total of 768 Mb. That speeded everything up. Snipedawg, you would really see a big difference by adding RAM.
