    I see you are using Ritek, you are probably the 3ed person I've helped today who had Ritek. Try a different brand of media.

    Log says ritek, probably rebranded. Was this DL, memo uses ritek DL. NO it wasn't DL. IS this the latest log?

    Edit our your serial number via pencil and notebook pic at top right corner of your post. It starts with 1A23, it's right under

    You should still switch even if you are using Memorex, they suck just as much. I recommend Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Sony and Fuji are fine so long as they are made in Japan.

    I have found through the making of many coasters, that slower is better.
    And like GlueEater said use only the best media, I found that if I had paid for the better, the money that I saved from buying the cheap stuff got me 8 good discs out of a pack of 50 memorex.
    Plus use DVD+R they work better.

    Not true, I find good quality disc are about the same as bad disc. Sonys on sale at Best buy 50 for only 15 bucks. I don't ever see memos for that cheap.

    Yep, a pack of 50 blanks Taiyo Yuden (FUJI DVD+R made in japan) for $15 on sale is better than 50 blanks of Memorex for the same price.

    @netaholic

    I despise Memorex media, especially if it's CMC MAG. Go here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544 and have a look around on the scanning from "high quality" media scans vs "low/crap or unknown" media scans.

    Again, my top 3 choices of media are: (1) genuine Taiyo Yuden (2) Verbatim "Advanced Azo" (3) Maxell (Hitachi - made in japan). You can't go wrong with them top notch media, just make sure you have the latest firmware on your burner and burn all your backups at 4X, then you should be all square away.

    You're welcome, and I completely agree with you, indeed. Once you've discovered Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim and or Maxell (Hitachi - made in japan), you'll never look back on those crap CMC MAG.

    Again, just remember to burn at 4X speeds only and make sure you have the latest firmware updates on your burner and you'll be fine. Here is a link to "rpc firmware" page; http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php

    Happy burning!!
