    hey everybody

i'm having an issue burning with nero. i have been using it for some time with no issues at all but all of a sudden it just won't work. it happens when i'm going through the dvd shrink burning process and also when i'm just making a copy of a disc. i tried decresing the burn speed, also tried burning on the fly and not (don't know if that would even make a difference though) i don't know if maybe my burning drive is bad but i did save a log so maybe someone could take a look at it and offer some insight. the log i saved follows. i'd appreciate whatever you could do. thanks!

    Hey bigsnug
    Here's some suggestions:

You can update Nero - may not make a diff on this burn problem but the latest version for Nero 6 is 6.6.1.15a.
Use package 1. Package 2 also if you have recode and vision w/ Nero.
    link

    Recorder: <_NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A> Version: 1.04
Burner can use a firmware update - latest is 3.07.

Check you drives - hard drive and burner in device manager and make sure DMA is on. You have Nividia and Nero doesn't report the transfer mode correctly so all may be ok there.

If still failing after the above cleans the lens of the drive w/ either a dvd lens cleaner or blow some canned air in the burner.

    Keep us posted.

i think the air to clean the lens was what did it. i can't be sure because i did everything you suggested, but that seemed to be the problem because it's working fine now. thanks so much for your help!

    You're welcome bigsnug

My guess is it was probably a combo of updating the firmware & cleaning the lens.

    Happy Burning!

I seem to be running into the same problem again. It stopped for a couple of days but now im getting the same errors when trying to burn or copy. I tried all of the steps before that u recommended but nothing seems to work this time. it will stop burning at 3%. do you think it might be my dvd burner if so should i get a new one and should i buy an internal or external drive(if it matters). thanks again for your help i appreciate your time.
