Do you suggest purchasing AnyDVD on its' own or buying the bundle? I want to get more proficient at making my family videos first before chancing anything else. So whilst not an ignoramus I know I have a lot to learn. Your help has been much appreciated.
tony126 Dont worry about being new to this. We all had to learn DVD ripping as newbies the first few times. As far as AnyDVD purchase goes, I bought it and CloneDVD2 without the AD discount, and i am very happy with the programs. The good thing about CloneDVD2 is that you can get the movie only, and keep the menu if you want. Some menus are very good, and took a lot of work on someone's part to make. The rip times are very fast too. Any movie currently out there can be ripped by free programs. AnyDVD is one of them, and DVD FabDecrypter is another program that is constantly updated to handle the latest anti-copy schemes. For ease of use, and reliability, you cant beat AnyDVD, and CloneDVD2 is designed to work with AnyDVD. You can get rid of many anti-copy schemes just by using VOB Blanker along with Decrypter and Shrink. VOB Blanker looks complicated, but it isn't. All you have to do is supply the input folder (where you extracted the files with Decrypter), output folder, and hit process. It allowed me to rip Madagascar without AnyDVD's help. Whatever works for you. My friend also uses CMC mag discs, and was ripping a movie at 16x today!! I had him check the movie, and it didn't get any freezes or pixilation. I would not reccomend the media, or the burn speeds he was using, but, like i said, whatever works for you. Give a regular movie a try, and if you have problems, look here at AD doing a search with the problem movie name, and you will probably find many threads listing the same problem, and how to fix it. Ripping movies can become addictive. I was up to ripping 12 movies a day, but have backed off that quantity. I found myself ripping but not watching the movies. But hey, thats me. I never said i was normal..
