hey mistycat, nero arrived and i installed it. nero 6.6.0.17 with visionexpress 3.se. when i opened vision, the make a dvd was not on the page like it showed on the guide. there are the other icons for what you would like to do. when i click on make a cd the option for other video formats open, if i click on this a window opens and it is about the add a dvd plug in. mpeg 2 encoding and decoding and playing not available. maybe i need another guide or you can advise me on my options, what a nebie? uh!
Your getting this message because you most likely have an OEM version of nero6 which includes only some basic functions, but not Nero ShowTime 2 which is required to view/play DVD video (it includes a DVD plugin). i upgraded to the .18 as it seems all the comments on it were saying it is the best edition and most stable. i'll keep checking for a plug in for the nero 6. i have been reading the guides and the threads to educate myself before doing anything. thanks for your help it was greatly appreciated.
