Apparently Nero was unable to prepare the data for burning. Do you have INCD installed? It may be causing the problem. Read here:

    forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/136289

    Good luck!

Still not working? Maybe you should
    1) Use Nero Info Tools to check hardware, software, and disc conditions

    2) Use another burning program (e.g. Decrypter) to see if it works.

it doesn't seem that decrypter can help me. i have vob files already i just need to burn them. i shouldn't need to author it.

    Dear Rotary,
Thanks for helping out here, but it appears that Nero is just not reading the data.

    Dear FZwilson,
You may want to be a bit more patient to sort this out. What I'm suggesting is for you to:
    1) make sure that your hardware, software, disc, and data are all hooked up fine (by using e.g. Nero Info Tools)
    2) check to see if you can actually burn at all with another software and/or data
    Hope this makes sense.

nero info tool says everything is fine.

other data will burn. cd-r's burn fine, this one dvd is giving me fits, most work fine but i do have a few that seem to be corrupted and just won't burn.

rotary, i can't change the settings for relaxing joliet restrictions. but the other restriction relaxations i will be sure to set like you have it.

thank you all for your help. i am trying to be patient i have been working on this for two months now. dvdshrink made one good copy and i gave it away. if i had it now i would just copy it.

Well, if it's just a few DVDs, then maybe compatibility with Nero is the problem. You may want to try burn with other more flexible programs (e.g. DVDSanta), or convert the .VOBs into mpegs or avis to see how that goes.
    Good luck!

dvdsanta hmmm i'll try that next. i converted to mpeg just fine (so my files are ok ..aren't they?) but mpeg wouldn't burn either. tried with a program called "Copy to DVD" it reported "Power Calibration Error:CD-Burner is Dirty" so maybe my drive needs to be checked out..thanx scf i'm gonna try dvdsanta
