Go to my computer icon, right click, properties, under hardware tab.

If it turns out you don't have a 2.0. usb then you can buy a card, they're dirt cheap.

And why not install this in you comp?

Look for Generic USB Hub and under that is Location:
If it has the below wording then it is a 2.0. It might have 1.1 or 1.0. If it has either 1.1 or 1.0 then you need a 2.0 card as they are real slow

    Location 0 (USB2.0 Hub Controller)

    Are you using XP

Plus, i dont want to have to spend more money over soemthing that wont work, i just bought fuji dvd-rs from Best Buy and tried to burn a dvd and it got half way through and then it sto[ped and said it coudnt read it anymore..do you think they will refund my money if i returned it? This is a ton of info thrown at me at once to try to fix this stuff, and when it comes to computers, im not the smartest to figure it out lol

@ memymo I'm afraid its not as easy as that. Updating to Nero7 is going to cost$$$, make sure your latest version of Nero is 6.6.0.18 and then go to this link by ScubaPete on how to use those 2 progs in combination. http://www.dvdplusvideo.com.

@DVDLUV, you just cant tell someone that, you dont know what errors he's encountering. Just updating progs is not always the correct way to go.

A usb card isn't something you can just plug in, well sorta. YOu have to open up you comp then you just plug it in. But you definitly don't have a usb2 then? How old's your comp? All comps from about the last 5 years have them. And none of this would be a prob if you just install your drive.

And there is really no need to update to Nero 7 right now. I would actually prefer 6 to 7 because 7's got so many bugs. Nero 6 is working fine.

Can someone correct me if I am wrong, I have the full version of Nero 6 and when I went to upgrade to Nero7 they wanted $$XX for doing so.

Do you have the serial number? I though that's how it worked? You put teh serial # in and you get the upgrade? I should probably get that upgrade, but 6 is working just fine so why bother.

Yep, thats what I thought, entered serial no and they offered a special deal of$x, I had to remove Nero6 completely before downloading trial version of 7...found it quite good but now I am back to 6.6.0.18, I didnt want to spend anymore $$$ and 6 is doing what I want it to do.

I might go to Nero 7 when they get the bugs worked out but I really see no reason to update right now as Nero 6 works fine

To upgrade from Nero 6.0 to Nero 7.0 will cost you some money, unless you can find a deal at a local store with a rebate offer. I tried Nero 7.0 and had a lot of quality problems with Nero Recode 2 and have since gone back to my OEM version of 6.0. Would recommend you hold off buying 7.0 until they get the bugs out of it.

Hmmm someone is having trouble with nero 7??? I havnet seen any problems with either audio or video burns. Ive even used the mp3 editor and had major success with it. I did however notice the first upgrade has a curious "demo" text written into the software but it still works fine and I didnt have to reenter my serial number after 30 days to fix the demo status. Man thats poor german programming there and after talking to nero they say they are not in a hurry to fix the error. But the bottom line is the software is free so why not pick it up. I also saw an increase in functionality with RL disks (dual layered DVD's)

    DVDLUV,
The reason my Nero 6 works properly is that my computer is setup properly and kept that way. I do not IM and I only d/l from sites I know are OK. My system is a custom made system that uses high quality products and have never had any problems w/ any system I have ever had built by the local Mom and Pop Computer store. Actually if I had purchased the same or similiar system from Dell they would have charged me $400.00 more than I can have one custom made.

@blivetNC, I can understand having to pay to upgrade to Nero7 as you only have the OEM version that probably came included in your burner bundle however I have the full version for which I paid big $$$$. I used the trial version for a month and was happy with what I got but for now unless I can upgrade for free then its 6 for me.
