    Try sending that information to Nero at techsupport2@nero.com

    The log says that you are using an illegal disc. What media are you using?

    Your firmware is really old, try upgrading and see if this makes a difference. Here is the site you will see current version is 1.0C. Your burner is not liking your media, the upgrade should help in media recognition.

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=23

    Scroll down until you see your burner, and download the newer firmware and flash your drive.

    @raduly -

    Can see the guys have sorted you out, just noticed a couple other things that might bite you on the bum later -

    - if you're using DVD Shrink, set the target size in preferences to 4300MB as you're burning too close to outer edge of disc. Other ppl will say this is ok on top quality discs however you're using a mixture of top notch media and utterly crap discs, plus i permanently keep this set to 4300MB on top notch Verbatim media as it's not sacrifing much space

    - this is packet writing software, i think this one's part of Roxio programs, you might want to uninstall that as it tends to interfere with Nero.

    Thanx a lot Creaky... I will get rid of the Roxio package - it came with my computer and it's useless.
    I read your forums about Memorex and other crapy media, so I'll stop using it, because it gave me trouble too... didnt know it was the media(I'm a newbie). I'll stick with Sony as i got a bounch of them on a soper sale. how is the tdk media?

    no worries.
    TDK are only decent if you are careful which ones you get as they use different manufacturers - for instance (this isn't right up to date but is a very good list) -

    TDK DVD+R 4x (CMC MAG.F01)
    TDK DVD+R 4x (RICOHJPNR01)
    TDK DVD+R 8x (CMC MAG.E01)
    TDK DVD+R 8x (RICOHJPN R02)
    TDK DVD+RW 2.4x (MCC.....A01)
    TDK DVD+RW 4x (RICOHJPNW11)
    TDK DVD-R 2x (MCC 00RG200)
    TDK DVD-R 2x (MXL RG01....)
    TDK DVD-R 2x (RITEKG04....)
    TDK DVD-R 2x (TDKG02000000)
    TDK DVD-R 4x (TTG01.......)
    TDK DVD-R 4x (TYG01.......)
    TDK DVD-R 4x Scratch-Proof (TTG01)
    TDK DVD-R 8x (TTG02)
    TDK DVD-R 8x (TTH01)
    TDK DVD-RW 2x (TDK502sakuM3)
    TDK DVD-RW 2x Scratch-Proof (TDK502sakuM3)

    - a right mixed bag, but if you're careful you can get some real good media..

    logfile may be required - it's in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log. only post LAST section of logfile, but DO NOT post your serial number whicxh begins with '1A21' or similar..

    @terrence1 -

    - that's way old now, uninstall Nero, uninstall completely via Nero's Clean Tools - " http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html ", then install latest which is 6.6.0.15..

    - that's old now - download R951 dated 25/05/2004 here - http://www.samsungodd.com/eng/liveu...hWord=&SearchMode=&PageNumber=7&product_code=

    - DMA needs to be ON for that GCR-8481B drive. Fix it like this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    - try to free up more memory during the burn; CD burning's not too intensive but you don't want the hard drive 'swapping' during a burn

    - splat!

    - those question marks aren't right, ie the ATAPI driver isn't loaded properly. The DMA fix mentioned above should sort this out..
