Hello all, new here and was hoping somebody would be able to help solve a problem I am having. I am using Nero Express 7 to burn basic music CDs but what keeps happening is that the songs near the end of the disk are cutting out. If i put 25 songs on a disc, around number 17 or so the song starts cutting out and gets progressively worse as you go down the song list. I have run multiple virus scans, ran spybot & adaware, defragmented my drive and even turned off all the programs running (that are shown in the lower right task bar). Still seem to get this problem and have gone through 4 or 5 CDs already. Is it the brand of CDs I am using though I have had success with them in the past. Could it be my CD burner? Maybe theres some other problem? If anyone has any solutions or ideas, please LMK. Kinda lost here. Thanks in advance.
Try posting the NeroHistory.log as a text file and we will look at it. Located normally in C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core directory. Make sure and remove your serial number. You may be putting too many songs on the CD and the quality is being lowered to try to fit them on the disc, or maybe is has to do with the position on the disc.

Working on the first log only I can see the following, Install ASPI from here http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm You need to free up some memory, dont multitask, close all unnecessary programs including spyware These are horrible discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan), heres a bit on memorex http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544 Each log file varies so as I said I only analysed the first one.
Do you watch the buffer level during your burns and does it stay up around 90% or so? The DMA on your hard drive in not on, you may want to fix that (it was on to start, but was off on last run). You may want to change so of the burn settings, like turn Power burn off to see what happens. Are you feeding the files from the hard drive?
It seems only the last 3 or so discs I burned screwed up. I had all programs shut down as well as just cleaned up my spyware with Adaware and Spybot on the last few burns. Everything is also coming from the hard drive and my buffer level is always high (near 100% I think). What do you mean by turning on the DMA on the hard drive? I also just got some Verbatim discs, i will try re-burning with them as well as with the power burn turned off. Hopefully this works, thanks everyone.
