    [05:15:47] DVDEngine ERROR

    I'm curious to know what that means myself (above). As for using Nero VisionXpress for encoding .... it is known to be buggy etc. It is probably not liking the fact that you have PRASSI/VERITAS drivers in place for instance :S

    I would highly recommend using a lot better encoder , my choice is usually MainConcept MPEG Encoder [as it's double quick]. The menu & chapters can done w/ TMPGEnc DVD Author ... altho from your v.lengthy nero log (which had to be edited) it seemed as it if you were maybe adding a Juvenille mp3 for menu audio.
    Were you trying to create a motion menu etc ? Have you tried any other encoders for this/these files ? I'll not patronize you by asking if you are sure you have the correct codec(s) installed. Also noticed it/they were Xvid files .. was the audio AC3 ?

    yes i was trying to create a motion menu with a video background. No i havent tried any other encoders and yes the audio was Ac3.

    Is there a problem with xvid files maybe?

    btw do those programs you suggested work with divx and xvid files?

    right !! well it might have been the motion menu that knocked Nero off balance perhaps ... or maybe there's a AC3 plug in needed for Nero VisionXpress [as I say I know it to not be too clever at encoding so Ive only ever played about w/ it a few times for testing purposes & that was many moons ago now].
    Yes the apps/progs that I mentioned do deal with avi/divx/xvid , but again AC3 might cause the odd problem...

    I ran into another error with another one of my movies encoding with nero:

    ERROR
    [03:36:11] DVDEngine cause: 128 (nmc_processing_exception)
    [03:36:11] DVDEngine source: _VOBS::_M_do_guarded_processing ()
    [03:36:11] DVDEngine description: Exception during encoding

    Do you know what this means?

    Well if Im honest I'd suggest at this moment updating to Nero 6.6 [newly out] that has plenty fixes that have been looked at... or use a different encoder (I'm not too fond of any app that claims to be able to do it all , altho I use Nero for burning & for cover designer etc - lol)

    I use MainConceptMPEG Encoder for encoding to MPEG-2 [saves over half the time , which is nice]
