You may be burning too fast at 16.1x. Try 4x.

    Hi Tuckcity,

Your first error message reports a KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST which would lead me to believe there is a problem with the the source or the Media.

Do you have this trouble with only this one source file? How are you Decrypting and shrinking?

Do you have any DVD-RW or DVD+RW media you can test with to quickly rule out media as your cause?

    Regards,

I guess the next question would be is this new media or did some of them from this batch burn fine and now they don't? Not all Verbatim are created equal!! They source there media out to several differnt manufacturer's. So just because Verbatim worked once dosent mean it will work as good on the next batch you try. Run those disk's threw Disk Identifier and see if they actually the same as your older disk's (compare the 2)
Your best bet is to listen to Craig :) he is from Nero so I would hope adn tend to belive he know's what he is talking about.

If half worked fine then the disk's are probaby good. The whole Lot could be bad it has happened more than once. Thats why I only buy Taiyo Yudens now I have never heard of them being bad ever.

Its unlikely that some would be good and some would be bad, but it's not impossible. A few others on this forum have found that out.

And the source file, just because it worked before does not mean that somthing could not have occured to cause it to have trouble now.

It's best to test with a single piece of media from another MFG, and if the fails to test another source of Video just to rule them out. Otherwise you could spend days on an issue that could have been resolved quickly.

We're just trying to isolate the issue. Once you know with 100% surity what it's not, you have a better idea as to what it can be. :)

i have one source with 2 differnt disk and another source with 2 disk and yet it still fails could it be that something installed it self and is trying to run the dvd player at the same time an causing it to fail or maybe a conflict somewhere....i dunno but am ready to through in the towel and reformat
