    We could argue all day on the quality of your medium, here at AD there are numerous members who all agree through past experience as to the poor quality of your medium We have offered help that you obviously wont accept...the media is CRAP and you dont have a DVD Burner. BYE

    They are not good, that is what we've been trying to tell you. It doesn't matter what company is distributing it, it is MANUFACTURED by CMC Mag. Which is one of the biggest manufacturers of DVD/CD in the world but is also one of the worst. Bad media, i.e CMC Mag, will crap out on you about 2 years from now (which is why reviews are worthless when it comes to media) and you will have to rebackup. And you have to burn at the slowest possible speed or you will get errors very easily. Here is a good thread on Bad media.

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/193298.

    But keep in mind what i said earlier about DVD RAM, of course I could be wrong. Is this the first movie you've ever done?

    Yes I'm not sure why it said that CDRW thing at the top. I'm going to format my computer and try again.

    Fair enough the disks are apparently crap but 5 fail in a row performing a simple task? That really is crap, I don't think it is entirely down to the disks.

    @dw84uk -

    - being as i can see your burner is mounted internally, that question mark is saying your ATAPI drivers are not loaded correctly

    - wow where's all your free memory gone, you need to close down more programs prior to dvd work/burning to free up more memory. and no multitasking during burning..

    - oh God, you're using some of the most awful, atrocious utter rubbish dvd media there is. get decent media, and glance at my signature for reasons not to use CMC media

    - get decent media, see previous comment

    - this is just a symptom of the other errors

    - the ATAPI drivers are supposed to be listed in this section, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    Sorry to come in to the end of this thread, but it looks like all is well. I saw the CMC mag listed in the log, and knew where the maj problem was, but much more capable hands have handle this one. CMCs? is that a new manufacture of cars? (see i have almost completely removed CMC from any association with DVD media to use in my brain)
    Good luck dw84uk. And happy burning. :)

    thanks

    hopefully all will be well once the new dvds arrive

    a question though - these dvds that kept failing on me (6 in a row) - how can they ever sell? i'm stuck with a 25 pack of them now and they're all absolutely useless. is it too much to ask for just a few of them to work???

    Well as I said earlier the media is crap, dont believe everything you read on the net, it sometime gets you into trouble having said that I am glad that things worked out and you are now up and burning..seek and ye shall find, listen and ye shall learn. I have just purchased a 50pack of DVD+R media which comes with a money back guarantee, probably a first.
