I recently bought a Philips dvd burner and it came with Nero OEM Suite. The burning rom is Nero 6.6.0.1.4H. When I tried burning a dvd movie, it gave me some error message about not being able to burn copyrighted movies or something like that. I even tried using anydvd. I was told that that version of nero was set so that you could not burn encrypted dvds. Anyone heard anything about this?
Also, if i go to update on the nero site, do I have to pay for that? What versions of nero have recode. I heard thats real good.
Try sarching the Nero site for what versions include Recode; I don't have any idea myself. I do know that Nero 6.6.0.18 is the most stable version of Nero in the 6 series. Make a note of your s/n and download this version of Nero. You should be able to install it using your s/n when prompted. If it won't let you install 6.6.0.18 you can always remove it using the Clean Tool available from the Nero site. Then you can reinstall the version you have in hand. You may need some of the free downloads to decode movies before using Nero to burn. I don't really use Nero that much. It came with my new burner that replaced a deceased unit. Actually pulled up the menu thing to check. Found a Recode DVD Video button. The blurb on it sounded as if it works like Shrink. So, the answer is yes on 6.6.0.18.
