To all of you here who are expert at using Nero to back up PS2 games. I have been reading alot from this forum and already tried some of the suggestions recommended by some of you here. My problem is I kept getting the "Burner process failed at 8x (8,310K)" message preceeding by the illegal dvd command . I have tried Maxell DVD+R and switched to Verbatim DVD-R, and set the speed at 1x, 2x for burning. Somehow the program automatically switched the speed to 6x. I also upgraded the firmware for the Sony DVD Writer and it was loaded and installed successfully. The only thing I didn't do - because I don't know how- was to change the DMA setting as recommended (to disable DNA setting in Windows) when I installed the firmware, however. I have wasted 8 DVDs and have not been able to back up any copy of the PS2 games I have. I am including a copy of my Nero history log for you to help me check for any problem. Much appreciation for your help with this matter!!! By the way, I am using Magic Key 2 with Magic Swap 3.6 Plus. ________________________________________________________________ Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=?.?.?.?, size=30208 bytes, created 6/11/1997 6:01:02 PM ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 9:35:32 AM Nero Version: 6.6.0.8 Recorder: <SONY DVD RW DRU-800A> Version: KY06 - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.6.0.8 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI CD-ROM: <SONY DVD RW DRU-800A >Version: KY06 - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.6.0.8 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : IC35L060AVV207-0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616T atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : SONY DVD RW DRU-800A atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === SAMSUNG DVD-ROM SD-616T D: CDRom0 SONY DVD RW DRU-800A E: CDRom3 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 74448896 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 510MB (523260kB) Free physical memory: 334MB (342120kB) Memory in use : 34 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 31.1.2007 ===== Disc-Copy over image - 1st step : Copy to image ... 5:19:11 PM #1 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 272 Write in overburning mode: NO (enabled: CD) 5:19:11 PM #2 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 438 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= Insert the original disc. i think part of the problem is that you are using single layered discs and you need to use dual layered ones. but you need dual layered ones due to what the log is saying
Just to add a couple of things. ASPI layer is corrupted, try this, version 4.71 from here - http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm You can try updating your Nero to 6.6.0.18 from here, both packages Package 1: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe You have Roxio installed, it clashes with Nero, to remove, run this zapper http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
