I've had a look around and can't find any info on this. I'm trying to copy a few retail DVDs to my computer using Recode 2.2.7.2, but as soon as the file analysis starts an error message appears saying 'Failed to read from the file %s.' The first thing that springs to mind is copy protection, but I'm running AnyDVD and the same discs rip fine using CloneDVD. The following is the log. Any suggestions would be appreciated! ********** Nero Recode ********** Version: 2.2.7.2 Project type: Copy entire DVD Target size: DVD5 (2282925) 15:34:39 File LangStreamPatcher.cpp, Line 56 Command table patching started... 15:34:39 File LangStreamPatcher.cpp, Line 103 VTS 2 - VTSM_PGCI_UT - LU 1 - PGC 16 patched! 15:34:39 File LangStreamPatcher.cpp, Line 103 VTS 2 - VTSM_PGCI_UT - LU 1 - PGC 17 patched! 15:34:39 File LangStreamPatcher.cpp, Line 103 VTS 2 - VTSM_PGCI_UT - LU 1 - PGC 23 patched! 15:34:39 File LangStreamPatcher.cpp, Line 103 VTS 2 - VTS_PGCITI - PGC 1 patched! 15:34:39 File LangStreamPatcher.cpp, Line 135 All tables successfully patched! Hi. Could you edit your serial number off that last post please? It's the number that starts with 5c*****.. There's not a lot in that log anyway, so you might as well edit it out... I gather you're running the latest AnyDVD version since the process goes fine with CloneDVD... Is this the method you use to copy it? http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/316083
Thanks, didn't realise my serial was there! Yeah, I've usually used CloneDVD and AnyDVD (i have latest version of AnyDVD). Just thought if I could get the same funtions to work in Recode then I could get rid of CloneDVD and streamline my computer slightly. Just can't get Recode past this damned error...
@TheEnigma Try updating Nero to the latest version 7.0.8.2 - you're a few versions behind. You can update by using the 'product setup'. Go to Nero Toolkit then Product Center and pick update. This may do the trick on that error.
