Nero won't let me burn dvds at 8x

    I have been able to burn dvds at 8x ever since i bought my laptop. now for some reason it will only let me burn them at 4x. why the change all of a sudden? what do i need to do to fix this?

    even when i try to burn a music cd-r the max it will burn at is 4x. there is definitely something wrong. how do i post the log?

    It appears that you have it set to burn at 4x. Change it.

    it's set to burn at 4x because that's the highest it will allow me to burn it
