nero wont read my dvds

    hey

    i have been useing nero for a long time and suddenly nero wont read dvds from my dvd rom.
    i wanted to make a backup of a dvd and it just wont copy disk to disk.
    i have tried 3 diffrent dvd roms and still the same.

    i am having to read to the hardrive with my writer and copy from harddrive to my writer.

    when i try it didk to didk i get th emessge cannot copy this type of disk.
    the strange thing is that they work fine in record now max but i prefer to use nero
    i also have tried 3 diffrent brands of disk.

    windows xp pro service pack 2
    aopen 1648 dvd rom
    pioneer a107 dvdrw
    ritek disks
    nero 6.6.0.3

    any ideas pleez its killing me..lol

    is the dvd your trying to copy the original or a copy of the original, if it is the original nero will not copy it

    you should remove the serial number first on your post,

    have you ever used the dvd rom drive with these disks before?

    and asking a stupid question,is there any data on these disk's

    one thing you should check,are your aspi layers installed?

    yeh theres stuff on the disks but nero is reading them as empty.
    i ahve no trouble burning and reading with my writer in nero just it wont let me use any dvd rom for reading.
    i have tried 4 diffrent dvd roms and same problem with every one.

    it says in nero i dont have aspi installed but when i try to install it with forceware it still says i have not installed it .

    i have just used a trial version of gear to burn soem disks and had no problems but i want my nero back....lol

    ill keep trying any help will be great thnks
