    Hello Everybody.

I have a major problem with one system

Nero 8 has been deleted by deleting the folder, not uninstalling. (not by me obviously)

This has caused all sorts of issues
Whenever i try and open alot of applications like Excel, Media Players etc etc i get an error regarding the missing file advrcntr3.DLL.

No nero programs open at all obviously.

I cannot uninstall nero at this stage properly
i cannot reinstall it, as i get same error
i cannot use the Nero Clean tool, same error.

i have tried downloading a copy of this DLL file and putting it in Program Files/Common Files/Nero/NL and also Windows/System

this system is really screwed at this stage
what can i do to fix it? any ideas
formatting is a last resort at this stage.

    Thanks.

Have you tried a 'System Restore Point' prior to the deletion.

I have the same problem and have already tried running various cleaning programs, downloaded and used the Nero Clean Tool but nothing seems to help and I keep getting the message whenever I open any movie file.

I would appreciate it if you do find a solution that you can post this so that I can also fix my pc.

Alternatively if I do find another way I will also let you know.

Am going to try to use all the nero uninstall tools and see whether that specific file could belong to an older version of nero, will keep you posted.

    Best of luck to you!

Had the same problem, even after nero general clean tool.

I opened the registry editor (start > run >type regedit)

in registry editor > edit > find > i typed NERO and deleted everything in the registry with NERO in it...

you will need a registry cleaner ( i used registry booster of uniblue)

    good luck
