Last night I got the furthest in transcoding I ever have, 3 out of 4 episodes transcoded and 7 minutes 12 seconds out of 55 minutes into the last one. Is there any suggestions on what to do to get it to magically finish one of these things? I've had the program 2 weeks and haven't been able to burn a single thing. No logs are ever created. and when it drops to freezing for 2 hours and i check task manager its sitting at 3% cpu usage. I'm not running any programs, norton has been shut off and I've disable all that I know in task manager as extra programs waiting to be launched. there's 22 gb avail hard drive space and the files are mpeg. Does anyone know what to do besides throw this program away? Thank you
Try exporting the videos ahead of time using NV4 and then use those to set up the DVD. When you export, it puts them in a DVD ready state which cuts down on transcoding time. The side effect is if you do one at a time, you might find one certain file is causing problems. If these are .avi files, you might even use a different program to convert them, like ConvertX or something like that. Someone else may know a better system. You should have a log named NeroHistory -- do a search for it, watch the serial number and take it out if you post it.
No logs are ever createdand the files are mpeg You are obviously using Nero 7, which version of 7 are you using...heres a basic guide on how I burn my AVI files using NeroVision, I see yours are MPEG but it works the same way. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_jump.cfm/356114/2104525 I have also experienced the "freezing" bit with certain versions of Nero 7.....just had to restart comp and try again.
