I do a lot of personal music video DVDs too, which i pick up from various sources, and i've come across the same problem you're having loads of times. I've noticed that my nve tends to hang, at the burning stage, when it is transcoding a video file that has a different video mode and as my nve video mode is set to PAL, it tends to hang or take ages only on the NTSC files.

My solution is not technical but here is what i do.....
I load my nve with the video files and save it.
Edit the files individually, and after adding the effects and transitions, i export any file with a diff video mode, NTSC in my case, back onto my drive. I then delete the original NTSC file from the compilation and add the newly exported same file, which is now PAL, in it's place. And hopefully your burning should run quicker after this little trick

 

Please don't give full logs that length - much better telling us what is actually happening in reality. Please try the trick detailed above. However you may still have a virus on your system. Is evrything else on your PC working correctly and at usual speed?

 

Hi Discmania Thank You , Back in 10/10/05 Norton Anti-Virus had Quarantined and Detected W32.SPYBOT.Worm that I manually Deleted as an option via Norton Anti-Virus. So I took into consideration what you had suggested about a possible virus in my PC even though the PC was seemingly fine. I did further research and found through the Symantec website that the Virus W32.SPYBOT.Worm modifies Registry Keys to it's advantage. I then carefully read and followed the Guide step by step for removing any modified Registry Keys that W32.SPYBOT.Worm might have possibly left behind .....to my suprise I did find 4 of the 31 Modified Keys that the W32.SPYBOT.Worm modifies and deleted them ! so far so good as far as the PC goes I Burned 3 DVD movies successfully using DVDShrink with no problems .......... and now I will try Burning those Music Video Files following the guide that Guyy suggested. Discmania For what it's worth if it was not for your suggestion about a possible Virus I would have not even done further research on W32.SPYBOT.Worm that I thought was gone from my PC.

The following is a copy of a support resolution to Ahead Nero's InCD program which has a tendency to lockup, disappear, and lose formatting information whenever a user swaps DVDs. The "solution" - to rename "GEARAspiWDM.sys" will disable system access to the drive whn you reboot the XP system (like a lot of MS features, "GEARAspiWDM.sys" is used by Windows XP). This "support" was provided after much handstanding and supplying system information and InCD failure message information.

So I am not sure what to do I like and use iTunes just to play music but not to Burn CD's , Musicmatch Plus is my preferance for Burning my Music CD's I have used iTunes for CD Burning in the past with Nero installed with no problems , A while back both of the Optical Drives disappeard and I started having problems with both Drives so I had to reformat Windows xp pro. I have read in the Google search that the GEARAspi.WDM can cause corruption to the Optical Drive/s as of today I have installed the latest iTunes vers. 6 I also went into the website :
http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/index.cfm (under product drivers) and downloaded the removal tool just incase so I am not sure what to do next with Gear Drivers I don't want to corrupt iTunes or other things related to Windows xp, I did install the gearsec.compatibility driver installer because of iTunes , So what do you think? This driver installer will update gearsec.exe if an older version is being used. This installer includes gearsec.exe. It does not remove the gearsec.exe driver or the associated GEAR Security service. If your system previously included gearsec.exe, and you found a problem when you installed the latest GEAR drivers, you should reinstall the GEAR drivers with the gearsec compatibility driver installer.

Hey Guyy , thank you ,thank you very much I cannot thank you enough I was able to Burn 65 Music Videos successfully with your suggestion. That was the Problem ........I had to seperate NTSC from PAL Videos and some Videos where corrupt. I am now playing around with Editing Videos and enjoying Nero Vision Express 3 !!!!

 

Hi Creaky , I thank you for Helping me in trying to figure out and trouble shoot the problem that I was having with Nero Vision 3 it turns out that it was not necessarily Nero Vision 3 and thanx to Guyy I was able to solve the Nero transcoding and hanging problem.......I turns out I had to seperate NTSC from PAL and Export the seperate PAL Videos with Nero Vision 3 and convert PAL Videos into NTSC format .......and now I can burn all Video files in NTSC format without Nero Vision 3 hanging! thank you again for taking the time to help.
