I have 2 PC's on XP that I want to use 1 printer with. Currently I have set it work but only if both PC's are switched on. The printer is connected to my main PC.
I am using an 8 port Netgear Ethernet Switch between the 2 PC's.
Is it possible to connect my printer directly to the switch so that I do not have to have the host PC turned on or do I have to use an additional Printer Hub? I am using an Epson R300 USB printer.
If I can connect direct I will need to convert the USB to Ethernet.
    Is it that simple?
    Thanks

All you need is a USB Print Server and the Network drivers for each machine. XP should have those, install new printer -> Network printer. Hope this helps

    Thanks for that.

I presume i can just use a USB-Ethernet adapter and plug this straight into my Ethernet Switch?

    Thanks
