Nice.... Money would be best spent on a video card, but you can get a new cpu too A E2180 @2.0GHZ is a great cpu for $87.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116052 Your were spending $180 on the HD3850,so maybe get a 8800gt now for $260 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130318 $167 total You should think about overclocing too mate, those E2180 are awesome,
ok I'll most likely get that vid card... about the cpu though, Is the cache size significant? it's only 1MB... they have an E4400 with 2MB cache for 125 free shipping... what do you think?
Don't bother with the 8800GT, get an HD3870 instead, it's more futureproof and provides a far better image quality. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814129100 Then go with the E2180 as dos suggested.
Sammorris just curious why you think the HD3870 is more futureproof than the 8800gt?The 8800gt seems to be faster in nearly every bench,do you know something I dont lol.... Lovin your build redzoneOS
lol ok I guess I'm gonna change my order to the HD3870. Stick with the E2180 though, and not the E4400?? Guess cache doesn't matter that much... btw, I ordered an antec sonata III case which has a 500W antec earthwatts PSU... is it good??? I just got it delivered today, so I can't wait for the rest of my parts! It was only 80 dollars including shipping, after mail in rebate... I couldn't pass on it, considering I was planning on spending 60-80 on a PSU anyway...
It's not the best PSU out there by any means, but it should be adequate for your needs. As for the E4400, cache does sort of matter, but it's not a huge difference.
