Acording to Nero the new Nero 7 enhanced has something they call "New camera denoiser effect". I can see that they have denoiser for plain sound files, but is there a simple way to get a mpeg-file through a noise reduction filter? After all "CAMERA denoiser" indicates that that should be possible. regards Hal
good point the feature is mentioned several places. here: www.nero.com/nero7/eng/Nero_SoundTrax_2.html and here www.nero.com/nero7/enu/RN_details.html?Nero_WaveEditor e.g. under the latter it says: "remove noise from audio tracks or video camera files"
I can't check on the camera denoiser thing quite yet, but it appears it just deals with audio. WaveEditor will work on MP3 files, or other types of audio files and then export to MP3. You can use the filters there to reduce noise. I assume the Camera Denoiser thing is some setting when you capture video that will allow for a filter to be used, but I don't have a camera to try right now. I will see if I can find a setting somewhere for the camera denoiser in about an hour.
