I recently went and got the 3rd season of scrubs dvd. I came home and tried to play it but my computer does not even recognize the dvd at all, i tried it on my regular dvd player and it worked fine. I tried using powerdvd, mediacenter, and windows media player, but like i said it says there is no dvd in my drive, all other dvd's work fine, my dvd player is a HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GWA-4082N, in my gateway laptop.

    Try this:

Sometimes a drive can get "confused" causing it to not recognize a disk correctly. For Windows XP: Go into device manager:

Open up the tree for dvd/cdrom drives
    Locate that drive-double click it
    Click Drivers tab
    Uninstall
    OK
Reboot- then XP will automatically hook it back up.

This should reinstall the drivers freshly. You should also check to see if there is any firmware updates for your disk drive by the mfgr.
