Apologies as this is the third time I have asked this and I see that other people are asking aswell. Will the TX work on chorus MMDS analogue? Thanks In Advance. Sham.
Ive testad the TX in areas with mmds, if you have an ariel on your roof connected to a chxxxx decoder feeding your tv the tx will work, as this system is digital, if you have a straight cable feed it will not work. I have tested both systems in Navan and this was the outcome.
so this box will work for me in kildare on chours mmds do you know how many channels i will get is it easy to set up and is it auto update or do i have to keep updateing it myself and is it working fine just before i buy one thanks
howdy,, i think you'll find this is not quite true? ntl mmds use dvb-C ! im of the opiniont that this box is dvbT only? maybe it supports both?
Im not doubting you mmdsinfo, i was in Navan today and tested the TX in a friends house who is on CHXXXX analogue and it showed no signal, i went to a house a few doors away, and they have CHXXXX digital, hooked it up and came on straight away, 83 channels, and from talking to dealers this seems to be the case from many areas around the country, if you have the ariel and the CHXXXX decoder its sure to work. Thats only my opinion.
Obviously it will not work on analogue as it is a digital decoder Ch**us still use analogue MMDS in some areas, N** MMDS is digital, but as said above N** MMDS use a DVB-C variant similar to cable whereas Ch**us MMDS use DVB-T.
heeeeeelpppp!! bought a eurovox 08 last mnth(black model).plugged it in got 145 chnls no probs.last week i decided to do another scan to see if i could get more. now it only gives me 10 chnls..tried doing powerscan 50+ times.still 10 chnls. Can you start another thread please as this is the EV TX thread. I will gladly help you out when you do.
Scouser, whats your take on the TX im just telling it from a purely novice point of view, and trying to explain it to users in the simplest of terms possible where i think it will and wont work.
If you see it with your own eyes Mikey what better way to report it BTW I have been informed that it has worked in a lot of areas, the only problem seems to be the loader as in if it doesnt say 23/11/07 it wont work and you have to reload it again. The Koreans are in Ireland this week sorting out a few problem areas.
Guys anyone familiar with Swords, Dublin? Got ChXXXS in and looking to get a TX box. Seems to be just a cable coming into the house, is this analogue MMDS then? and Eurovox TX should work for me? Cheers for any help
just got my TX tonight, living in Westmeath and got it going fine no problems. for what its worth this is what i done in this order. straight from packaging connected to tv it had 11/11/07 version on it, scanned for channels and it found 83 of which only a few worked. disconnected from the cable and scart connected to pc using the NULL MODEM and not the cable supplied with the TX. using the loader and 23/11/07 version i got from this forum flashed it while it was turned on.the progress on the loader was about 5% ahead of what was on the LED on the TX and when it had 100% on the loader it had 98% on the box for a couple on minutes. then it said wait while writing on the loader and on the box it had uadl or something like that.connected it back to the tv factory reset then auto scan again found 83 channels and on screen it had wait while updating which stayed at 0% for about 30 seconds and then it just came on . all channels working fine. now i dont know if this is any use to anybody thats what i did.
ain't tried.. but make sure you're on a channel that transmits teletext.. if your tv has text it should work on that station too but maybe the eurovox tx is a bit like the dream where as it's teletext on seroids.. maybe..don't know..
Howdy all. I live in Cork - I have Ch**us Digital MMDS (mesh aerial on roof is the technical jargon I think!!) via a black Sagem box for last three years. By all accounts it seems the only option for me is a "Eurovox TX" - would this be correct? Is there any other option, since there seems to be a bit of hassle associated with these boxes? Thanks in advance?!
But would the Eurovox Tx be fairly likely to work though? And, is there someone in Ireland who sells all these?
