New Gaming Computer

    it usually has a giant metal heatsink with a fan clamped down on it.

    most x series cards need an additional power cable hooked up and require 300 watt power supply minimum. e machines power supplies are about 200 watt effective meaning it wasn't getting enough power.

    it may be a socket 754 if such is the case tigerdirect and eBay are your only options.

    Mine is black so I guess it's not socket 754 and it has a heatsink and fan on it like you said.
