you need to plug in a lead from your power supply to the graphics card. like i said its the same connector your cd drives use.

it should be a white plug on the card with 4 pins in it , some are black . if that is what you have , you use a molex power connector from the power supply to supply power to it . your power supply should have a extra one that isnt being used .

sorry guys i was replying at the same time .

itsay ikelay yingtray ootay eachtay itshay ffs ;P

you dont plug anything into the powersupply there are leads coming out of your power supply yes.

the leads that lead out of your power supply and into your cd drives and hard drives. you get on of the leads that isnt plugged into anything and plug it into the graphics card

are you saying the video card does have the 4 pin molex connector on it ? if that is what you mean and you dont have any more extra leads coming off the power supply you will need a Y cable . this allows you to use one power lead for 2 devices .

right then. unplug a power cable from one of your cd drives and plug it into the female end of that cable (thats the end that things fit into ;P). this now splits that into 2 cables. plug one of them back into your cd drive and the other into the graphics card

Then go down to your nearest pc store and pick up a couple of splitters, exactly as shown in the pic above. Then just unplug one of your drives and connect them to it and to the video card. That's it.

if your still having trouble getting your head round it take a look at this

    http://www.crucial.com/install/videocard9800pro_2.asp

its not specific to your graphics card but the same applies

if you still cant fit your graphics card in after reading that im giving up lol

anyways i have a 6800GT and if i look directly at it there is a plug not the same as a 4pin molex its a tiny black one, you mustve received a plug that goes from tiny little black plug to a 4pin female molex plug?? And if he dont then thats what he needs, and if there is no plug at all on the card then its fuct

nice illustration . the black plug is what i was trying to refer in my previous post . im with everyone else in thinking it needs power supplied to it . i dont think the drivers not being loaded has much to do with this issue . the system must boot before the drivers can be loaded . if all else fails the pc can be brought to a local computer shop and they should be able to take care of this issue .
