i think either he hasnt set the jumpers (master/slave) on each drive & hes just changing the wires ... or 2 he doesnt know how to get into the bios screen. If your computer is amd then u have to press delete afew times while booting the pc, if its intel some use f1 can really say
Sorry, I haven't been on my computer lately. Does it matter if you have intel or amd? Hmmm.. I thought it was your PC make that had different keys to access PC BIOS.. I'm gonna try JaguarGod's first post.
name brand boards sometime uses f1 or f2 to enter bios setup. clone boards usually uses del to get into the bios. some intel made boards you have to move a jumper to get into the bios than move it back to boot normally.
every amd based pc i built uses del to get into the bios screen, I barely ever make intel based pcs cuz they r more expensive & not even on the amd level but the few that I did use the f1 key or even sometimes f2. I was referring to proccessor not chipset
all of the clone pc's using intel cpu's i've worked with use del to enter the bios as does amd cpu boards. name brand boards usually use f1 or f2 unless is an intel made board than you have to move a jumper to enter bios setup than put that jumper back to do normal bootup.
Sounds like you just need to make the 98 disk inactive with such as http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/downloads/bootitng.zip and double check the boot sequence in BIOS.
