I have searched and have not found the answer I need. I want to add an additional harddrive to windows xp so how do I do it? I mean how do I get the system to reconize it. I have installed it physically... gg
I actually use a Windows ME boot disk to do it. Once it boots to the A:\ drive, I do an fdisk and create the partitions that I want. I then get out of fdisk and boot up the computer and format the partitons (NTFS)in Windows XP.
in XP, its simple. Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management. Click on Disk Management. Right click on the new drive, and select create partition.
Plug it in. Partition. Format. Use You got the hard part done. Provided BIOS recognizes the drive, you just need to partition and format and ur good to go. In W2K or newer: control panel --> administrative tools--> computer management --> disk management LOL figured someone else would get that one hehe Now if you have partition size problems, consider updating to SP2 which should alleviate them
Fantastic. Thanks for the help it was right under my nose I should have searched a little harder....Thanks again.
