I have searched and have not found the answer I need.

I want to add an additional harddrive to windows xp so how do I do it?

I mean how do I get the system to reconize it. I have installed it physically...

I actually use a Windows ME boot disk to do it. Once it boots to the A:\ drive, I do an fdisk and create the partitions that I want. I then get out of fdisk and boot up the computer and format the partitons (NTFS)in Windows XP.

in XP, its simple. Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management. Click on Disk Management. Right click on the new drive, and select create partition.

Plug it in. Partition. Format. Use :)

You got the hard part done. Provided BIOS recognizes the drive, you just need to partition and format and ur good to go. In W2K or newer: control panel --> administrative tools--> computer management --> disk management :)

LOL figured someone else would get that one hehe

Now if you have partition size problems, consider updating to SP2 which should alleviate them
