Gee and I guess I just answered this in your second posting of the same question. No double posting allowed, my friend.
Hi again mookapple, Yep, When you posted your Nero log you also posted your private Nero seial number. If I wanted to activate my trial I could use the number you provided! So first what you need to do is identify that number. It is the number at the top of the log file. It starts with 1A20-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX* Once you locate the number you need to edit your post: Locate the edit icon on the orange bar just above your post. It looks like a pencil and paper. Just click on that and your post will open and then you can go in and delete the number. This happens all the time when people post their logs. There is a lot of numbers in a nero log so most folks don't even notice their number is in there. Also the edit icon is not really noticeable until you look for it. BTW did you get your problem fixed? Merry Christmas, Frank
thank you frank, i followed you advice and everything seems to be working in proper order. have a merry christmas!! mooky_
I have burned backed up maybe 100 movies and I all of a sudden got this same error. I went to the thread and don't seem to be able to follow. I don't understand it, 1 min. I'm burning DVDs and the next min. I am getting this error. Its really frustrating.
Your're getting a power calibration error: 12:20:55 AM #23 CDR -1106 File Writer.cpp, Line 301 Power calibration error Your drive is unable to maintain the laser power level required to burn your disc at the selected speed. In this case, 8X. The power level is set at the start of the process and is continued during the course of the write session. This power cal error occured 7 seconds after the burn started so it failed during the lead-in. Your device map looks a little odd, looks like you have four drives. Is one external? Check: Dust on the laser in your burner. A dirty or defective blank disc. A failing power supply. A loose or damaged power supply cable. A defective burner. Slowing the write speed down will help in most cases. Some media just won't burn at the advertised burn speed. I'd check into the media first and for loose connections second. The other stuff seems unlikely. A gentle blast of air in your drive may help. You can also use a cleaner made for DVD drives. I haven't had to but I know some folks have had dirty lasers. Cheers, Frank
