I used a program called Winmpg Video Convert. Trying to convert a (divx).avi to dvd. I converted it by clicking avi to dvd, but on the output file it saves it as a mpeg???? Not sure why its doing that?
Any info on this would help.

    Thanks

    Hi,

In a dvd, .VOBs are essentially mpeg-2 files, which is what dvd-roms/players read.

I'd say just rename it to a VOB.

The conversion has changed your file from an avi file to that of an mpeg 2 compatible file. This mpeg 2 format is the require format for you to burn your project to dvd disc.

A substitute program for you would be vso divx to dvd, basically just load your file into the program and then point your computer to where you wish it to deposit the output. Then press the convert button.Give it an hour and then your file should be ready.Once converted try tmpgenc dvd author to re author your file ,add menus etc before your burning agent puts it to disc.

    Heres a guide :

    have fun
