    helo.. i was planing to build a new computer for gaming. should i go for the intel core 2 duo E6420 or the amd x2 dual core 6000+?? any ideas??

    go with the intel CPU, intel is much better then amd right now,

    also for some reason the 6000+ will take memory that has speeds of 800MHz and make the memory run at 750MHz.

    Intels run cooler, faster and overall just better.

    amd x2 dual core 6000+

    i have this one right now and it works like a charm

    The 6000+ is a good CPU, but the E6420 is a better CPU.

    the intel is also very good for overclocking

    They were, and had been for a few years, but now the Core 2 Duo's out there's no comparison. My Air cooled E4300 can leave a friend's watercooled 4200+ for dead.
