http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/flash-modchip-evox.php. You shouldnt really flash the chip if you are not to confidente because if you mess it up your xbox might not work. so i would get some one to do it for you who knows about that stuff.
Broken Link..... I got my xbox to show the blue logo, but its not playing backups. I tried to flash it with Evox and it wont read my CDRW. Then I took a risk and tried to flash it with Xecutor, and it still couldnt read the CDRW. WHATS GOING ON?!?!? READ MY BACKUPS!!
try other types of cd-rw media brands...or try a dvd+r or dvd-r. and make sure ur burning the bios correctly to the media....theres tutorials on this
Hey, did you make the iso for your backup game with xISO or any other app. Remember, it needs to be an xISO so the Xbox can read it.
hockeyfrk; either try a different cd-rw brand, what kind of brand are you using anyways? memorex worked ok for me, i dont think the xbox picks up dvd+r, atleast mines dont, and also about the xiso program, forget that crap, it wont work, it didnt for me, use craxtion and make an iso of your evox, than burn it with different kind of apps to see what works and what doesnt, record now maxv4.50 worked for me. try burning at 4x too, dont speed up the burn, hopefully any of my tips helped you out.
Thanks for all of your replies..... This might be of some good new. The CDRW media I'm burning with is an old, over-used one from Office Depot.... No brand or nothing, just Office Depot. Also, yes, I did use Xiso, and it didn't work for me as well. I know that Max 4.5 costs money, which I don't have, but I'll probably purchase it tonight. Thanks for all of your help and I'll try these ideas.
No you dont Need xISO for xbox to read isos...it will read any type of bin file fine or .xbe files u can burn ur games just by burning it as data cd/dvd with the directories onto it or burn it as a bin. with the iso burnt. ur xbox should read mostly every media type(if its a new phillips drive), if u keep getting no media to read then its the way ur burning it or the bios isnt a legit one....my xbox reads any type of media wether cd-r or dvdr and so far nearly all brands.
i didnt purchase record now maxv4.50, im pretty sure you can find it on the net, there must be some trial one available, i know you can get Sonic record now max v6.50 for like 30 days, but i think this program didnt work for me. Remember, to use cd-rw(brand name for best results), dont burn higher than 4x, and do the evox3935.iso image with craxtion than burn it with what ever works, hey, why dont you try dvd decrypter and see if it works? i know it burns iso's so try it out and see what happens. peace!
hockeyfrk try out some Dvd+R or DVD+RW my xbox has always read them i installed my chip with a thompson drive so that information would be handy if thats the dvd drive you have i have since upgraded to a samsung and that reads everything!! i wouldnt waste time on CD-RW's it will boot faster from a DVD-R or DVD+R or a DVD+RW if that dont work then you are burning the files wrong, remember burn at the lowest speed possible 2X is recommended but if you cant at that then 4X should work fine. In relation to playing burnt games with the original ms dash YOU CAN!! those games are not burnt right or your drive is one picky motha fo!! let us know how it goes!! good luck!
