Hi, I am a newbie here and have a rather basic question. I would like to be able to use a tivo or similar unit without any suscription to simply record a show manually. I will select the channel from my sat receiver and simply want to be able to start recording and stop it manually so as to be able to watch the show at my leisure. I have been told that a tivo unit will not work at all if you don't have a suscription. Tom Cape Cod
