Hey y'all So Here is my situation. I am trying to see if i want to get into DVD backing up. I downloaded Mac The RIpper as well as a trial copy of DVD2OneX ver 1.4.2. The Ripper works well and I can load the .img file and play it with the MAC DVD Player. However when i try to burn the .img file to disc it won't play in my DVD player I am using Disc Utility to burn. I am trying to burn The Matrix Revolutions. The title of the .img and the disc are both THE_MATRIX_REVOLUTIONS so i don't think it's a problem with the naming. Anyhelp would be great. Also if it matters i have an Imac G5 with the superdrive (obviously) Thanks for the help. Also what commercially available media do you guys like. Something readily availble if possible. Thanks for your help guys. CE_GOD
Man we need a sticky for this one: YOU CAN'T BURN A DVD VIDEO DISC WITH DISK UTILITY!!!! DVD video is UDF format. Disk utility doesn't do that!
Thanks, I think, so what should i use, lots of programs out there. Also to address my second question, which media (DVD) is decent to use.
[bold]YOU CAN BURN A DVD VIDEO DISK WITH DISK UTILITY[/bold] If you select in DVD2OneX the "Create Image" option it will produce an image in UDF format that can be burned using Disk Utility. Also you can use DVDImager on any VIDEO_TS folder to create an image in UDF format. [bold]So basically if you want to use Disk Utility you have first to create an image in UDF format and then you are set to go.[/bold]
There you go! It will deal with a UDF image that already exists. But you still can't CREATE a UDF disc into which you'd drop your VIDEO_TS foler.
