I'm just wondering if it will be possible to record SD DVD quality video to the Blu-ray and HD-DVD disks? That would allow you to store several DVD movies on one Blu-ray disc.

Will they have the same folder VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS?

Yes, you can put whatever you want onto an optical disc there just "Bit-buckets."

Thats a question noone will be able to answer untill everything arives. I would assume not. In either case the encryptions are totally different from DVD, if thats what you mean, they can't be copied the DVDs can (yet).

I'm not wanting to rip the new media. I would be interested in authoring the new media to contain hours and hours of DVD quality movies. If it would contain the same file structure then I may be able to use the authoring software that I currently have to accomplish this task.
