I have Winamp 5 Pro, and I downloaded some Space Ghost .avi videos. But when I play them either in Winamp or WMP 10, no video shows up.

Am I missing a codec or am I not using a third-party media player like I should be?

    Thanks.

Not sure about winamp, but wmp uses whatever dshow/dmo decoders you have installed, so yeah installing a decoder for whatever video codec they use should sort it.

If you want a player with built in support for various formats, try mplayer or VLC. mplayer can make use of external codecs if needed. VLC can't.
