Your freeview box will not get a signal from a cable connection as it's DTT not cable tuner inside. Your TV would still receive channels if there was a live cable which clearly there is not. You have to get on to VM and get a basic sub to enable your live feed.
Oh I see. I tried it with both just in case. There is Virgin broadband here and Sky Plus downstairs, but I need to get the VM TV package to get a live feed? I take it that's the only way, unless I know a dodgy VM installer?
check your brown box outside to see if its connected even if nag 3 has kicked in you shud still be getting freeview channels. try changing the 6952 to 6853 i think it is. other then that if its not connected then thats why no signal
How would I see if it's connected? And if it is, how do I change the numbers? Sorry I've no idea here
It is not connected if you are getting no signal full stop. I would imagine the previous people in the premises got it switched off. Especially if you have Sky downstairs as you mentioned.
Yes. Exactly. The reason I say your feed is definitely not live is because as dave said about plugging straight into tv and scanning on tv to see if channels appear and you said nothing came in, is because symbol rates don't even come into it. So basically your feed is dead. Before signing up to them I would look here first and see if your area is gone N3 mate! http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f...an_do_and_updated_with_n3_areas_in_uk-811964/
