I have a video that is out of sync.
I used VLC to sync the audio.
After I got the Number I needed to put the video in sync permanently, I went to Virtual Dub.
I put in the number (400) and clicked on save.
When I tried to play the video, there was sound in 12 seconds and the there is no audio at all.
Why is this happening and how can I fix it?
I know of no other way to sync the video with the audio.
Can someone please help. I would appreciate any help given.
    Thank you

There are two ways to specify audio issue in VLC:

    • Preferences → All (features, as opposed to “Basic”) → Audio → Audio desynchronization compensation: a value in milliseconds.
    • Keyboard shortcuts: Guessing a correct value and entering it via the preferences can be incredibly tedious. Thankfully, VLC has keyboard shortcuts that let you adjust the delay while playing the movie. You press just the key, no modifier key such as control or command.
      • Mac: F and G
      • Windows: J and K

This tells me nothing. I already used VLC to get the number to sync .
It is when I use Virtual Dub to correct the video, by using the number, I got from VLC.
That is when there is no sound after a couple of seconds into corrected video.
I appreciate your help, but I don't see how that helps me.
    Thank you.

He misunderstood as he's talking about movie playback then using vlc to sync rather than what your trying to achieve.

I think you can find some A/V sync software and just drag and drop these new video files with your audio files, and let the program sync them for you

You can use the Handbrake which solve this trouble.
