no sound on the labtop??

    can anybody help me , i have a new dell 6400, labtop , i was playing dvd , and had the headphones in " the labtop sliped and the head phones jack plug, went in to the body of the labtop, and now i cant get any sound at all from the head phones , or speakers" its showing full volume in the players task bar, anybody help "

    It probably still thinks you have headphones plugged in and so will mute the speakers. If you've broken the headphone plug and it's a new laptop, just have it replaced under waranty.

    not covered under waranty, for that kind of physical damaged , so they say , its in a shop now trying to fix it , thanks again for your time ,, michael
