    Make/model: Nokia 6230b
    IMEI# 353372001898689
    Country: USA
Provider: Formerly Cingular Wireless; phone now says AT&T

Also, for this phone on that network do I need to put another carrier's SIM card or just leave the SIM card out?

    Thanks in advance

you get 4 chances to unlock here is cingular first

    #pw+047 943 067 541 155+7#

this is the AT&T one now so try both

    #pw+947 542 060 567 554+7#

and yes leave your own sim in to unlock first

This nokia phone was Cingular/AT&T. It is locked to Cingular/AT&T. I have since switched phone providers and got a new phone. The SIM is now deactivated as it was Cingular's. I want to know if I should leave the old SIM (the Cingular one) in there when entering the codes or put another SIM in there from a different carrier or take out SIM altogether.

It worked. I used the Cingular's unlock code. The SIM that came with the phone was a Cingular's chip even though the phone had AT&T in the display screen. My phone is only 1.5 yrs old and looks brand new. At least now I have a backup phone to use on my new Carrier's network, T-mobile. THANK YOU!
