I'm not sure if I can use a Funcard 6 in these boxes?

I get a picture of a card reader with a red cross over it on the tv screen. Bit like a no parking road sign.

I hope I haven't bought the wrong cards as well.

    I'm dead, lol.

Oh boy, you were ripped off.
Average price for 5 dbox1 items without amon cams should be around 80 quid.

The red cross means only no signal for the current channel.

Same as above. Precondition is a multicam with amon chip and a funcard with dbox1 files.

Do you have to program a fun card or does this amon chip do it. I am not good with it! Thankyou for your reply

The amon cam is the precondition for the programmed funcard.
A unmodified conditional access modul for the dbox1 is not willing to communicate with a funcard.
If the keys are rolling you have to update the keys at the funcard.

So let me get this right you need a amon chip plus a funcard? Does the funcard program itself or we need to do it?

Loads of people are being ripped of!! Will these boxes recieve anything in their cureent state with the Amon chip? & How you fit these chips plus do you need a seperate fun card?

In the current state such dbox1 items can only receive the free nonscrambled channels.
If you want to watch the scrambled channels you need a thick conditional access modul for a dbox1 modified with a amon chip and a funcard programmed with dbox1 files and the current valid keys for your area.

How do you fit the amon card & can you program a dbox 1 funcard if we paid you to do this?

Either you buy a ready made up multicam with a amon chip or you modify a thick cam by your own. Only the thick green or silver cams are usable.
Thats a ebay offer for instance but its a little bit expensive:

The most owners of chipped cc boxes should be able to programm a funcard but keep in mind after every keyroll the keys must be updated at the funcard.

Start isvedit, load the file eeprom.hex, click on editor, go to the nagra section, overwrite the 2 keys with the valid ones, tick both keys, click on write to memory, exit the editor, save the eeprom file to the format you want, write eeprom and flash.hex to a funcard.

If you didn't get a patched dvb2000 version use the method via tuner menue scan described at the first page of this thread.

I tried that method on all five of my boxes but I couldn't get any FTA channels.

It would say that there was no signal available.

I can get internet and analogue TV ok from my cable feed so I don't think there's a problem with the feed.

Has anybody bought a patched multicam off German Ebay yet?

I have to wait till I get paid at the end of the month.

Menue button -> 6. Type the first 4 digits of a valid frequency and 06887 or 06952 for the symbol rate. After that press 9. You can get the valid frequencies from a dbox2 services.xml for your area.

I tried 5150 for the frequency. I got that from the engineer's menu of a Telewest box that I hooked up temporarily. Not sure that's the right frequency or not.

Anyhow, it still says no signal.

Don't laugh at this question because I'm desperate, lol.

The cable feed goes into the 'Antenna' coax plug yes? Not the auxilliary scart?

The cable feed go to the antenne input and you need a f-socket to coax male adapter if you have a wire with f-connector.
The aux scart is for DVD player and such things else.
