splint 64 just thought could i use any ethernet cable ie from my ps3 or are they different to the one i need?

 

You need to get a cross over cable

 

hi every peeps, i still cant seem to do what you other guys do, am really fed up. any body in swansea area willing to do it for me, i'll bring them to you. i thought i could follow all the help posted but my pc must be from another planet, ftp wont connect, .img files comes up as.bin files, cant overwright var/key etc. but i'm getting good at changing images, even though they don,t work. thanx for all your helps see you all after i finished jumping all over these boxes, cheers

change to

And try that

Its been a stressful last week if ya need help on setting up gis a shout

 

you also gotta make sure your TCP settings in your network change it to (use the following ip) 192.168.1.2 cant have pc and box the same

My box is now running fine with evocam.
I originally got it going by editing keys with mgcam as default.
Tried another box put updated nagrarom7 on left it a minute
auto updated then all channels came up, box as good as new.

Great stuff.

I need to flash the dbox but how can i get the i.p address from the box if i cant get into it , ive got Kein Systems at the start and that is it, i cant get any futher, i click buttons but nothing happens , Ive got the crossover cable and the null cable and downloaded the nagrarom7 and a image file to flash , but im stuck now ! im almost there apart from this brick wall ive hit , plz help !! thanx!

Null modem cable and Network cable - point it at any real flash (i.e. if you've got Kein - wrong- system and yours is a 2X box - then make sure you use a 2X image)

Dunno how clear people are about this 1 X and 2 X Images..

Inside a DBOX there are (were!) either 1 or 2 processing chips. Mostly Nokia but somtimes AMD (Though image wise it 'generally' doesn;t matter). If you take the top off a DBOX or when you've seen a few - look through the slots on the top - any box with 2 Chips side by side needs whats known as a 2X Image - similarly 1 Chip = 1X image)

Remember to (someone may clarify if this is still required - always was a few years back) run the Media Sensing Reg Edit - forgot that on a couple of early machines - dohh! That alows the IFA to run unhindered by windows (assume you have got your TCP/IP setup correctly) - I'm passing though m8 - so can't help with your personal setup - good luck

 

You a 9pin connection on the back of your computer some dont have one. your must be a laptop?.

get ifa (image flashing assistant) and get ready to flash (you don't need an rs232).

waiting for dbox start. plug it out and back in after 2 seconds.

it will flash. plug it out and back in when it's done.

note: iv'e flashed with ifa and no null (rs232) plenty of times and no problem at all.
