    Daweorama,

The image I'm using is "sportster 1.73+ uk05". I've now tried taking all of the splitters etc. out, ignoring the TV & Broadband lines and linking the incoming CATV line directly to the DBOX2 - but still nothing.

My mate, where the box works, is on Telewest wheras I'm on NTL. Does anybody know if the sportster 1.73+ image works with NTL or does it only work with Telewest?

Any other suggestions from anybody would be most welcome as I'm running out of ideas. The only one I've got left is the booster option but as I've directly linked the incoming CATV feed to the DBOX I can't see that working now - unless directly linking it will necer work for some reason I'm unaware of?

Can anyone provide details of reparing these. Like diagrams etc? As I have a few faulty ones that I could probably make 1 good one from.

Hi lesleyday. Do you know what image you have installed? It may be that you have an image created for Germany only, and in which case you may have great difficulty in scanning successfully for channels on UK cable. On the other hand, you may have a UK image that is simply set on German. In the latter case it's quite easy to change it's language to English. Please write down the image version as it appears on the TV screen as the Dbox2 starts. Be quick though, as it doesn't stay on for very long. Come back to us with this and we'll take it from there. For info, EPG stands for Electronic Programme Guide - it tells you what's on which channel and when. Lastly, please don't post all in caps again..

I would try a different image, found that images work well in some service areas and not so well in others, might be the same for providers. you can also check the signal by pressing the red button then the blue

Well Paul. I'm not too familiar with the sat version of dbox2, but from what I've read they provide only freeview channels. Unless of course you want to enter into card sharing.. If so this site provides useful info http://cardsharing.homelinux.com

If your boxes ship with a Sportster image you should be fine. I had one of my techie friends flash the Commando 6 image to my D-Box2 and it works a charm in Dublin.

It depends on who you order the box from. You will find a lot of people who are selling these will know whether or not they are ready for the Irish Market

Well Eoin, as scribs said as long as you have a UK image such as the Sportster or Commando you should be fine. My personal preference is the Sportster as Commando 6 is buggy. Here in Ireland NTL and Chorus are basically the same configuration as NTL and Telewest in the UK, so UK images are also compatible with our cable services here. Let me know how you get on and if you want to use the image that has been successful for me in Waterford, click here: http://www.ifawilson.com/downloads/Dbox/Sportster 1.7+ uk05_2x.exe

    Hi Folks,

I have a DV3 Nokia box but need a manual guide for it.
How do I scan for new channels without losing the ones I already have installed?(sky sports,PPV movies etc) I am emailing from Ireland with NTL. Can you email response to davebdublin@hotmail.com.

    Cheers
    Gerry

    If anyone's interested,

If you ever get the problem 'transponderscan failed' almost immediately after starting a channel scan on a nokia box, try opening the box and making sure the memory module is in place correctly. This resolved it for me.

    I use commando 6

Just out of interest, does anybody have an english copy of the Dbox2 user manual? I'm trying to rearrange channels and stuff without having to put all the channels under 'My Favourites'.

    Any help would be appreciated!
