hello people i THINK im very close to finally sorting my box out just wanted to ask advice i have done as follows
connected box to pc via ethernet x over cable, downloaded nagraroms 7,10 & 11 & unzipped them (they are now .bin files on my desktop)
    fired up internet & typed in ftp://rootdbox2@192.168.03/tmp & hit go now in the window that opened up i have the following files listed camd.sock03 ,controld.sock ,com.info ,emm.info ,ifstate ,keylist.txt ,neutrino.sock ,pid.info ,pmt.tmp ,sectionsd.sock ,timerd.sock & zapit.sock
am i on the right track (ive been reading a dummies guide to flashing a dbox ) is it now just a case of drag & drop the 3 bin files on my pc into one of those folders? if so which one do i drop them into? i think im close to sorting it but dont want to mess up anything i shouldnt
anyone that could help me id be very grateful eggnogg on by any chance? you have been helpful & know a damn sight more than i do lol!!!
    cheers in advance

set your ip add for your own network card to 1 below the ip of the dbox and make sure your user name = root and password =????? depends on your image are in lower case and connect

your PC and DBox are on different subnet hence cant connect

change your DBox values as follows

    IP 192.168.2.5
    subet 255.255.255.0
    gateway 192.168.2.1

right i have done the above and changed the network adaptor card settigs and i still cant connetc my d box settings are

    dhcp - off
    ip address - 192.168.1.3
    netmask - 255.255.255.0
    broadcast - 192.168.1.255

    default gateway - 192.168.1.1
    name server - 192.168.1.3

what am i doing wrong, i could cry!

    Can anyone tell me?
    1) I have a spare box Nokia DBox2 but it is dud, I wanted to try to get this fixed is it possible? So I have been reading the setting up a DBox2, it said when you first turn on the box if there is lots of numbers/letters on the LCD screen? Then it is in debug mode, when I turn on my spare box my LCD screen is only green with nothing at all on it no numbers/letters does that mean it is not in debug mode,is it possible to fix this? I do have time to work on this

2)As my other box is working good since I changed the codes on Friday morning fingers crossed. should I risk the permanent fixed or should I leave it!!!!
if replying please tell me which box you are telling me about 1 or 2
    Thank you!!!

there is another folder named "scce" & the icon has a small black arrow on the bottom left hand corner, when i open the file up it seems to have the same contents as the folder named "keys" but the blue header bar at the top of the window says var/keys is this the folder that i drop the 3 files to? i have managed to send a picture off my pc to the box so all the connections etc are ok i just need to know exactly which file to drop the fixes into "keys" or "scce" ? please help i must be close!!!
    cheers in advance
