thanx oggnogg, i seem to be going 2 steps forward 1 step back. i already had adromeda 1.4 off your link . and u suggested version 2, but when i look the version 2 was for x2 chip, so i plumped for commando 9 (x1) of your link, (thanx) it flashed no prob using both cross over and null modem. i also had n*l sw*nsea rar off link, unzip which gave me 2 files bouquet and serv (xml). also had n*grarom7 rar when unzip gave me n*grarom7.bin, you sorted out my/box ip address problem which had me stuck for a while, a BIG thank you for that. i transfered the 3 files with ftpb but am unclear as to where to put them,so i put rom7.bin in var/keys and the other 2 in tux/config/zapit (i read that on other posts) not sure if thats right, i prob i see ,is that i wasn't given choise to overwright is this my problem, thanx for all you time ans support if you still think i need a new image could you pick 1 for me . many thanks again

Oggnogg , I downloaded the new Cryo Sportster 1.02 image , Flashed my box and after scanning , the box was looking for service.xml and bouqeets.xml. I see you have these in your shared folder so where do i file transfer these across to and what steps do i take after that??

Karl1974 - You will need to FTP the files onto the Dbox2. You will need a crossover network cable to do this. Im guessing you've probably done similar to flash your box. http://www.kleinanzeigen-dienst.de/dbox2/BeginnersGuide.pdf
P5 onwards includes help to set the network connection up, if you havent already.
P14 onwards includes details on how to FTP into the box
P17 (bottom) tells you where to put the services.xml

vickiwizz - IF you have flashed the wrong image (wrong number of chips) then on boot, on the LCD display it will say "Kein system"

not sure about Vista, as I suspect the network has changed and added more security to combat DOS attacks or spreading of viruses - my experience of IFA has been with 2000/XP and not Vista

Is there a guide anywhere that shows the step by step updating of the Dbox2 anywhere, have searched through threads myself but keep coming across bits and pieces instead of an 'all in one' step by step guide. And if there is any chance of it being stickied??

Am OK on doing Eurovox but could do with a bit of help on the Dbox end of things!
