With the crossover cable & null modem cable connected to both dbox & computer start IFA find your intended image on computer you want to flash with, tell it your net card if you have 2 & also yes for null cable press enter, then power off dbox and power it back up it should then start to unflash old image & flash new image

Already tried that. The log hangs on :

    Uncompressing Kernel Image ... OK

The Dbox returns to the channel display without flashing.

    Can't connect through FTP either.

not sure on your net card BUT, yes to null and if u only have one on computer then com1 is a good choice
why not try all three cards in turn to see what happens slow but you will find the right one in the end :)

The box freezes when manually trying to update. The firmware is very old (2005). Yes I have tried a different image file. It's not my box, I'm trying to flash and update it for someone else. Can you please confirm the IP settings I listed are correct?

if your using a null cable the ip address does not matter as it will automatically find the best address it self

I know you said it was win xp BUT I would still update your IFA to 3.1.1
I see you are using DBOX-IFA Version: 2.3 also the address looks ok

NO this is a different kettle of fish, best use IFA if you can't sort ip address out

    No i followed these instructions:

    get flash fxp > ftp

    2 get the file > http://www.4shared.com/file/43880742/b756ed13/nagrarom7.html

    and unzip it

3 plug an ethernet cable in to your computer and box.

4 go to dbox then network on your box remote.

5 go to flash fxp on your computer and pick file then quick connect.

6 type your ip address from the box and put user name as root and password as dbox2 and connect.

if it doesnt connect change your box ip and dns and default gateway the same: 192.168.000.003 and then pick start\restart network on the box.

7 once connected go to var\keys and put the file in and overwrite.

8 wait a few seconds and your box will come back on.

    Hello

Does anyone have a tutorial guide as to how to upload an image using the null modem method.

Unfort i have a box that is stuck in kein system and as i do not know the ip address of the system my ftp client is not connecting anymore.

Also the image i uploaded was a 1x for a Sagem dbox , from what i have read these tend to me 1x boxes , does anyone know if they also have 2x as well ?

    Many thanks
