    Help,

    I've read through all the notes above & tried most of them but to no avail. I have promised to fix a mates dbox having sorted my own out but I can't connect it to my PC. I can't even ping it from my PC & when I test the network settings on the box itself it says its unreachable. Is there some setting I'm missing.

    Thanks

    make sure that your box is on the same ip adress as your dox,your box sounds as though its ip adress is not the same as your pc or laptop.

    if you have a wireless router,plug the rj45 into a spare slot and then find out the ip adress your computer uses,make sure its got com1 forwarding(should be standard with all routers made from 2007 onwards)

    just right mouse on somthing like "local area setting" ad write them down and copy it on to the box via remote,restart the network on the remote,and try re-connecting.

    Thanks,

    Finally connected to the box and patched in the 2 new files & of course it still won't work. Now for the really stupid question......

    I have all the files from my (working & auto rolling) box backed up. this other box is running a newer image than mine (don't know details of both images) Can I just delete all the files on this box & replace them with the backup files from my box???

    on the remote back up without bootloader that image will be save in temp as mtd3 or something along them lines drag it from there on to your desk top then hook up your next box to the pc drop the image into temp file use the remote again flash without bootloader select the image you put in the temp folder then wait once finnished unplug back in again you should be up and running

    My Sagem DBOX has lost 'pay channels' etc.

    My brother in law will reflash image (as it needed that anyway as some channels had been freezing for a while)

    He has given me instructions in the meantime to change the keys as a temporary solution to the channel thing.

    Where do I get the updated keys from? or can anyone supply them. I live near Hamilton (West Scotland/Glasgow area). Old Telepest country.

    Cheers.

    Cheers once again, although I will need to check when I get home, but they bear no resemblance to the numbers that needed changing this morning in my 'var/keys' menu on the DBOX.
    (All the stuff in the link looks like the codes on my other Starview Box)

    Am I missing something.

    this was his instruction to me
    ==================
    (quote)
    You DBOX will be down, , you can input those temporarily via the blue button on the remote, look for tuxbox commander on the menu & then the folder labelled var if its not there find folder labelled dir & its should be in there. You then want to to find a file called keys.txt scroll to that and hit (4) you can then ammend the keys. You need to do it with both keys for all of the lines upto 7. Until you get a new image on it the auto updates as the codes were cracked last week.

    ================================
    (keys available via 'bigmaq')####what is this? do I need 'bigmaq, or can anyone supply keys required.
