Apologies for cutting across lads but if you are on N** in Dublin, there is ana updated Commando image in Eamos. I havent done anything to the Sportster image. By the way is your Sagem 1x or 2x as the image I am referring to is 2x.

    Hi,
I am hoping someone can help.My Sagem DBox2 was working great and then I started loosing some channels (Channel 4, E4 + 1 etc.)I logged on here to see what I could find.I Downloaded the new services.xml and boquets.xml. I FTP'ed them over to the box and all the channels had gone and I got a "waiting for time" message.Fortunatly I had backed up my old files and when I put everything back I was back to where i started (i.e. no Channel 4, E4 + 1 etc.). When I looked in the new services.xml i noticed it was for NTL Dublin....whereas my backed up version that seems to work is for Ch**us.
So I have three questions if anyone can help..
    1. is there a services.xml from Ch**us ??
    2. I went into DBox - Services menu (to try to run a scan) and it asked me for a password...I don't know what the fella who set it up put the password andI can't contact him at the mo. Is it possible to do a scan another way ?
    3. Any ideas on how I can get the missing channels back ??
    Thanks a Mil !!

    Hi,

There are 2 methods to find the pincode on a dbox2

either ftp into var/tuxbox/config and view neutrino.conf, look for parentallock_pincode=####

    the #### is the pincode.

If you want you can do it from the dbox
    Choose Tuxbox Commander
    var ok
    tuxbox ok
    config ok
    scroll down to neutrino.conf ok
then scroll down to the line, it is in alphabetical order.

It would be but try telling that to OPs never happens, you will always have cross thread queries, just the nature of things here ;)

    Hello Turner,

I've been advised by sc0user that you might be the person I need to speak to....

I have just bought a Sagem DBox from flea bay (from Germany) and it was advertised as plug and play. It comes complete with a CD that is full of technical stuff that I don't understand - it's probably only fair to point out at this stage that your average doormouse probably has a better understanding of DBoxes than I do.

I did buy a DBox a couple of years back from a UK seller and all I had to do was plug it in, do a scan and I was sorted. This one is completely different - when I plug it in it says it can't find any channels and tells me to do a scan. When I do the scan it roles through the frequencies but doesn't show the transponders - that line entry is blank. I am completely clueless and have no idea really. I live in Newcastle but would be willing to travel and reward anyone that can help me get sorted? Can you help, or can you put me in touch with someone who may be able to?

    Kind regards,

    Flybee

thats really strange i cant understand why it will still continue to scan without any transponders found? you could be serarching through the menu all day looking for the reason maybe just a bad image and a reflash would most certainly fix the problem, if i guide you through the reflash do you think you ll be able to follow or will it be to much for you, it really is not hard (when you know how) newcastle is a fair treck from preston but if you wanted to come over i will show you step by step how it is done and so future times you will not have a problem updating etc, if you wanted me to guide you through msn wold be the best and easiest method of comms, just private message me your email and well get to work

Many thanks for the speedy reply - it's appreciated.

I'm normally useless at trying to follow written instructions but I am quite good at doing the tasks once I've been shown the steps to do them.

I'm happy to drive over from Newcastle and bring the Dbox and CD with me - I'll PM you my contact details and we can arrange something at your convenience.

Thanks for your kind offer of help.

    Flybee
